Never been to a refillery? You're not alone. Here's everything you need to know before you walk in. Honestly, though, it's a lot simpler than you might expect.
Start the loop
Drop off any clean glass jar you have at home and we'll swap it for a sanitized Sifted jar on the spot. Yours gets washed, branded, and cycled back onto our shelves for the next customer. A loop that actually works.
No jar? No problem. We have them available free to borrow or to purchase if you want something a little more your style.
Fill up
Browse the pantry and refillery stations and fill your containers with exactly what you need. No pre-packaged sizes, no minimums. Prefer to grab and go? We keep pre-filled jars on the shelves for most items, just like a regular store.
Not a jar person? Paper and canvas bags are available for anything that works just as well loose (think grains, coffee, beans and spices).
Weigh and pay
Every jar on our shelves is pre-weighed and labeled, so there's nothing you need to do. At checkout, the weight of the jar is automatically subtracted and you only pay for what's inside.
Prices are by the pound or ounce depending on the product.
Come back
Keep your Sifted jar and bring it back to refill, or return it and we'll wash, label, and put it back on the shelf for the next person. Either way, the loop keeps going.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to bring anything?
Nope. We have everything you need — jars, bags, and pre-filled options. Bringing your own jars is always welcome and keeps the loop going, but it's never required.
How do I know the jars are actually clean?
We sanitize every jar ourselves before it goes on the shelf. Each one is inspected, cleaned, and labeled in-store. You're not relying on a stranger's dishwasher.
What if I don't want a jar at all?
We have paper and canvas bags available for items that work well loose. Some products are also available pre-packaged if you prefer to grab and go.
What if I want to buy a nicer jar?
We carry a selection of jars for purchase — everything from simple glass to more upscale options if you want something that feels a little more intentional on your shelf.
Do I have to weigh anything myself?
No. Every jar is pre-weighed and the container weight is subtracted at checkout automatically. You pay only for what's inside — no scale interaction required.
Is there a minimum purchase?
None at all. Buy a tablespoon of a spice or fill a gallon jug. It's entirely up to you.
